We are coming up on the 2 year anniversary, since we abruptly lost our team member, Dean Sallada on 8/3/2019. Dean was the husband of Joan, dad of Mark, and played an integral role in getting SU66 started.
Dean was our set up guy in the trailer. He took care of what needed done: getting supplies on scene, keeping track of those out in the field, having resources available, and was our fix-it man.
Dean was able to work in the new command trailer twice the week before his passing. The last time was the biggest incident with searchers of around 400 people. It was a success and the young lad was found.
Dean was always willing to go above and beyond in all he did.
He is greatly missed by his family and will always hold a special place in our hearts. I know he is with us as we carry on to help those in need through our search team.
